THE COURSE
The Hillcrest Country Club was first opened in 1920 and was the first Jewish members only country club in Southern California. This is an 18-hole course of well-kept Kikuyu grass extending up to 6,489 yards for a par of 71. This has a driving range of 20 tees, with tree-lined fairways that are in traditionally styled, with an average course rating of 76.6 and slope rating of 141. The golf course includes a workout facility, cafe and restaurant with a patio, pool and a driving range.
The Jewish only membership policy is no longer enforced but is still restricted to members. There is very little information on the clubs site and requires membership login information. The club will go through periods of accepting guests but these are by invite- only and settled between members and the club and enforce a strict dress code policy. The new renovations to the club have made some changes to improving the course and also include a pool. p>
GREEN FEES
Because of the members only policy, the initiation fees are at a steep 185,000 dollars. Weekend fees are at $75 with cart while weekdays are $55. Donations made to the club improve ones chances of membership, home visits and tax return information are also requirements and this is rather competitive as well. Younger members are being accepted and especially if their parents are already members, but these require yearly fees that increase with age. The facilities also include tennis and basketball courts.

GOLF SHOP
Even with the exclusive access, the facilities also have a wide selection of gear to choose from in the well-stocked pro-shop. This is perfect for last minute purchases and includes everything from gear to merchandise that carries the Hillcrest Country Club name.
Among the many items offered are golf apparel, clubs, tee balls, sunglasses, gifts, hats, and shoes. New orders can be placed and items customized for the member. The service is of the highest quality in the newly renovated space.
Golf club brands include Affinity, Arizona Golf, Cleveland, Mizuno, Callaway, Bobby Jones, Nike, Wilson and Tour Age and apparel by big names such as Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Polo, Cobra and Champ to name a few.
TENNIS COURTS, POOL AND GRILL
For those members that would prefer something other than golf there are nine outdoor Har-Tru clay tennis courts available on the property and a newly added 25-meter Olympic pool with a changing room and cafe. Rates apply to these courts as well but there is little to no information offered for this private club.
There are newly renovated areas within the indoor facilities that include the kitchen, grille restaurant and the patio which offers a great menu selection for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner by some of the best chefs. The cafe area has a more flexible dress code policy but the restaurant does require jackets and provides one if the member does not bring one. Also included is a well-stocked bar.
Those who have been privileged guests of the club refer to the service and the course as one of the best country clubs in Southern California. Privacy and protection for the members is enforced and there is always a possibility of meeting high caliber moguls from different industries like entertainment, real estate and business.
