THE COURSE

Built in 1924 and designed by architects George Thomas and William Bell, the course at Palos Verdes is one of a kind. Of the 18 holes, 13 of them overlook the ocean, creating a stunning backdrop for this memorable course. The course, like most designed by Thomas and Bell, appeals to golfers of every ability by combining the thrill of a great game with the breath-taking views.

Famed “a hidden gem” by Fore Magazine, it is no wonder Palos Verdes keeps players coming back again and again. Thomas and Bell created a course that combines extensive bunkers, small greens, narrow fairways and a wide variety of natural and man-made obstacles. The result is truly a golfing masterpiece. The signature hole, the fourth hole features a 213 yard drive, par three and is outlined by Mt. Baldy.

The Palos Verdes course is 6,219 yards to the longest tee and has a par of 72. The rating is a 72.9 and the slope is a 133. It offers several tee lengths to make this an enjoyable game for golfers of any handicap.

Before your visit, be sure to check out the website. There, you can view the rich history of this timeless course. You can also download and print a scorecard, view photos of each hole, complete with tips and descriptions and learn about the details of membership.
